The name ‘Of One Accord’ is founded from the following Bible verse:
Philippians 2:2 “Fulfill ye my joy that ye be like minded having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
Of One Accord A Capella is a brotherhood of nine young men united in the selfless service to Christ, despite the differences in background, personalities, profession etc.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” Matthew 28:19 – 20 (KJV)
Our mission is to call all people to become disciples of Christ, to proclaim the everlasting gospel embraced by the three angels of Revelation 14:6-12, and to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.
Our Vision is to passionately reflect the character of Christ and manifest His love for the lost, through strategic outreach initiatives.
“For God is King Over all the Earth, Sing ye praises with understanding.” Psalms 47:7 (KJV)
Of One Accord A Capella was founded in 2007 at Karura Adventist School by Dennis Maranga, Erick Muturi and Seth Mochache. After high school, the members decided to recruit more members and extend the ministry beyond the high school fence. Nashon Agwa, Wisley Nyaramba, Michael Abiero, Job Atera, Shadrack Kahenge and Gideon Obuya were then recruited to join the band. We have managed to visit and grace so many events including prisons, high schools, music Sabbaths, youth Sabbaths, weddings, camp meetings and funerals. Our major milestones have been mentioned in this document.
The identity for Of One Accord Acapella reflects our deep and abiding belief in Jesus Christ as the center of our lives and our faith. The logo is a symbol and a message, a new communication initiative and a new visual identity for the band. We would like to be seen as an Adventist evangelical organization whose name is clearly stated and identifiable.
It is our hope that this graphic representation of who we are will be used around the world as a familiar symbol of our band and values.
The three angels on our logo represent the three angels of Revelation 14 and our commission to take the gospel to the entire world as commanded by Christ in Matthew
28:19.
The musical crochet on the letter ‘d’ in the word “Accord” represents our main tool of reaching out which is Acapella Gospel Music. The 3 color logo (Green, Gold and White) is the official color combination which is inherited from the Seventh Day Adventist Church logo. Color is an integral part of our logo, because the consistent and accurate use of color greatly enhances recognition of the logo and therefore important to carefully follow the color specifications and meanings they symbolize from the Bible.
Green describes the healthy spiritual growth of God’s children. Green has been used in the bible to refer to healthy plant life which has been compared to our spiritual health and
growth. Even Jesus likened himself to green wood full of the sap of God’s word and urged us to stay connected to him so that we can bear fruit for Him. References: John 15:1-8, Galatians 5:22-23, Psalm 1:3, Jeremiah 17:8, Luke 8:11-15
Gold symbolizes excellence, brilliance and splendor according to Revelation 3: 18 and 1Peter 1:7. Gold also refers to those who impart the wisdom and knowledge of God to
others who are willing to learn (Proverbs 25:12)
White represents the righteousness of Christ which those who overcome sin put on after they are purified and cleansed through faith in The Lord Jesus. White is a symbol of purity
and the Bride of Christ. References: Revelation 3:5, Revelation 7:14, Mark 9:3, Psalms 51:7, Isaiah 59:1, Revelation 3:18
*The logo graphic presented here is a trademark of “Of One Accord Acapella”. *The letter “A” is being shared by the two words Accord and Acapella.
“With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world!”
